Can't "Trust" my PC

I'm attempting to use the "Trust my PC" feature between my laptop and my Microsoft account but it will not work. The message does not disappear asking me to do so on the taskbar at the bottom. When I click it I am taken to a page that tells me "Your device is trusted!" but the message doesn't disappear and when I look at my settings it says that it isn't trusted. Can someone help?
