Win 8 undelete problem

I've used XP undelete programs for years but I'm not having much luck with Win 8. I tried EaseUS and another undelete program (both in another directory). I see thousands of deleted files but none of the ones I'm looking for---about 75 photos in folders---inside another folder named temp--which was foolishly stored on my desktop. I didn't reboot, I didn't Fdisk, or make ANY other changes...
