trying to make a .conf file

hi im attempting to follow a simple guide from a youtube video ( How to setup a namecoin wallet - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezo1t90QLFQ) ) were one part is to create a .conf file but each time i get to that step in the process i make a new .txt file and after i rename it to .conf it remains in .txt format an when i try doing save as it save it as .conf.txt any ideas? thnx
